What will services at the SpaceX Health Center cost?

Your out-of-pocket costs for non-occupational health services received at the SpaceX Health Center may vary, depending on the type of medical insurance coverage you have.

Medical EPO, PPO, Guide PPO

Services at the onsite SpaceX Health Center (both remote and in-office scheduled visits) will continue to be free ($0 copay!) in 2024 for you and your covered dependents ages 14+ (except for lab services). Specifically, patients who choose to get their lab work done onsite at the SpaceX Health Center will not be charged for their blood draw onsite (i.e., phlebotomy services), BUT will receive a separate bill for lab processing from the 3rd party lab partner (e.g., LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics) designated by your health plan.

Kaiser HMO

You will pay the full cost (or "fair market value") for all primary care, mental health, physical therapy, and phlebotomy services your receive at the SpaceX Health Center. These out-of-pocket expenses are not reimbursable under your Kaiser HMO. The One Medical staff at the SpaceX Health Center will collect payment at the point of service.

HDHP with HSA

Preventative services, such as an annual physical exam, are free. However, in accordance with IRS rules, you must pay the full cost (or "fair market value") for non-preventative services you receive at the onsite SpaceX Health Center, until you satisfy your HDHP deductible. You will receive an invoice from One Medical to remit applicable payment related to your visit. After you reach your HDHP deductible, services at the onsite SpaceX Health Center will be free in 2024 (except for lab services). Specifically, patients who choose to get their lab work done onsite at the SpaceX Health Center will not be charged for their blood draw onsite (i.e., lab services), BUT will receive a separate bill for lab processing from the 3rd party lab partner (e.g., LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics) designated by your health plan.

Non-SpaceX Medical Insurance

For employees and dependents (ages 14+) not actively covered under a SpaceX medical plan (e.g., waived coverage, ineligible, or within waiting period), you will pay the full cost (or "fair market value") for all primary care, mental health, physical therapy, and phlebotomy services you receive at the SpaceX Health Center. The One Medical staff at the SpaceX Health Center will collect payment at the point of service. At your request, the SpaceX Health Center can provide you with a "super-bill" that you may present to your non-SpaceX medical insurance plan to request any applicable reimbursement.

If you are enrolled in the Medical EPO, PPO, Guide PPO, and HDHP, you will receive a Medical Benefits Statement (MBS) from Collective Health indicating your financial responsibility for non-occupational health services you receive at the SpaceX Health Center. Your financial responsibility will vary depending on your medical insurance plan, as noted above. The MBS isn't a bill. It simply provides information about what you must pay to the service provider, in this case, One Medical.

A note of clarification, while One Medical is sending out invoices and collecting required payments for services, it is doing so on SpaceX's behalf. One Medical does not keep any payments collected from you for services rendered at the SpaceX Health Center. One Medical simply collects the required payments and remits the collected funds back to SpaceX.
